Branded Online is an eCommerce startup based in Costa Mesa, CA. They were looking to revamp their overall brand and online presence as well as offer various online resources and tools to help brands better assess their eCommerce needs.


THE CHALLENGE
Most ecommerce companies have to be aware of lots of pitfalls when they are launching their brand and their online ecommerce businesses. Branded Online provides a platform as well as a suite of other service offerings to help brands achieve their goals in terms of growth and revenue.

The Story 


RESEARCH AND DISCOVERY


Overall Art Direction was the starting point for this B2B eCommerce project. An amalgam of clean and contemporary
Swiss inspired design in the vein of prominent Swiss designers such as Joseph Mueller Brockman and the use of bold color palettes, clean and modern typography helped define the tone and the brand essence.

A taxonomy of various shapes, photographic elements and design patterns were implemented to help create consistent visual motifs and distinct brand pillars to help build the design foundation.

Original branding was tightened, cleaned up and new lockups introduced.

DESIGN AND PROTOTYPING


Site architecture and content mapping was created to help organize various content blocs and modules within the online experience.

Detailed site structure diagrams, user flow maps and wireframes were created to help understand the overall flow of Information across the entire web experience.

Key user touchpoints and user journey mapping was developed to help understand how
individual users could leverage information on the website as well as the online tools to better
strategize the overall plan for how they can build their businesses and view gaps in the process.

USER TESTING AND VALIDATION


Responsive patterns were aligned and an online style guide were created to ensure consistency
