EXERCISE TV
CLIENT : NBC / UNIVERSAL / COMCAST
ExerciseTV was an NBC / Universal / Comcast television property. They were looking to rehaul and expand their digital strategy and presence through a series of strategic multi-platform and integrated UI / UX Design design solutions ( Connected TV, Web, Mobile, Tablet, etc. )
THE CHALLENGE
NBC / Universal / Comcast was interested in creating a new, expanded design of their Exercise TV channel property.
THE SOLUTION
The goal of the this new redesign was to improve and expand upon the existing experience and to create a multi-channel solution that encompassed mobile, tablet, desktop and connected TV experiences.
THE STORY
DISCOVERY AND RESEARCH
User experience and business goals were aligned as a starting point.
User journeys paths and conversion funnels were created and analyzed to understand all the variations of content purchases on the the platform.
DESIGN AND PROTOTYPING
Content matrixes were created to better understand the relationship between content items and key business KPIs.
Detailed site plans and various content mapping for each component of the platform were created to understand various components of the platform.
Various user flow maps of specific sections were analyzed to understand the key details in the overall user experience.
Detailed wireframes of various content sections were created to help better understand the overall user experience and modified based on understanding how best to maximize the overall business objectives.
Custom icons were generated for the channel to help maintain a consistent and integrated look and feel for the brand.
Content items were organized and media strategy applied to help bridge solutions between social channels like
Youtube and other broadcast media channels.
A multi-platform design solution was created that spanned multiple channels
( Mobile, Web, Tablet, Connected TV, Social, Youtube,etc.)
Lifestyle branding was created and employed across various sections of the platform that needed
more premium content sections and channels.
USER TESTING AND VALIDATION
Various user testing funnels throughout the system was employed to gauge user interest and to provide new directions for the design of the channel strategy and implementation. Various design iterations were implemented based of key user feedback.
OUTCOME
Exercise TV content and channel properties were ultimately sold to Hulu and integrated into their Hulu Plus offerings.
